RRVP Supporters Questions

  • Where can I drop off a food donations?

Non expired food may be dropped off at our 421 S. Rockton location; a donation door is located on the south side of the building. For large donations please contact our Warehouse Manager, at 815-965-2466, to schedule a pick up.

  • How are my monetary donations used?

We are proud to say that 93% of every dollar is used for program services. Your support helps us to purchase urgently needed food, keeps our food recovery van on the road, and our freezers and coolers humming, and provides a clean safe place for people to come to for assistance!

  • What is the difference between a food pantry and a food bank?

Food pantries are on the front line providing groceries to those going hungry. Your donation to a food pantry will stay in this community and help those living in the Winnebago area. Food banks can cover multiple counties, distribute government commodities to pantries, sell food to pantries and congregate feeding locations, and support hunger relief programs.

  • How can I get involved?

Volunteer, donate, advocate! Contact our Volunteer Coordinator at 815-965-2466 for volunteer opportunities including warehouse, registration, distribution, gardening, and general support.

Donations are needed! Check our wish list to see the items that we are always in need of or make a monetary donation to help us purchase the foods that we need or to keep the lights on! Advocate-raise the community’s awareness of the existing hunger issue in Winnebago County. We need help in reaching out to groups that may support the cause as well as identifying new food sources to help with food recovery.
