“Healthy Food For All” Grant Received
Rock River Valley Pantry is pleased to announce it has received a $5,000 grant for Healthy Foods for All. The grant was awarded by the Dr. Louis & Violet Rubin Fund of the Community Foundation of Norther Illinois’ Community Grants Program.
The program will allow the Rock River Valley Pantry to purchase vegetables and fruit for the 6, 100 clients that use the panty on a monthly basis.
Jon Lang, President, Board of Directors, stated that, “Every dollar makes a difference to those going hungry in our community. This support will help to provide nutritious food to those who are in need of emergency provisions.”
The Rock River Valley Pantry fights hunger in the community by providing nutritious food to those in urgent need. Currently the RRVP is assisting 6, 100 clients a month of which children are 38% of the client base. Learn more about the RRVP at rrvp.org.
