If you or your organization would like a tour of our main operation on South Rockton Avenue, call 815-965-2466. The tour includes, our seasonal garden followed by the warehouse and distribution area, the intake lobby and our choice pantry. If you tour in the morning, you will see our volunteers sorting donations, stocking the choice shelves, and filling food packets for the pantry on Broadway. In the afternoon you can also watch our distribution process.

United States Postal Service Stamp Out Hunger

For years, on the second Saturday of May our letter carriers have collected non-perishable food left at the mailbox. This food is shared among local pantries.

An endowment is an invested fund in which charitable contributions of property, assets, or funds are placed. These funds grow and produce income that is channeled to a specific goal.  A gift to an endowment is a gift that, over time, keeps on giving.

The Peanut Butter Endowment was created to purchase food to distrubte to our clients. Join us in the valuable cause by making a one-time or recurring endowment donation!

Each year, the Rock River Pantry kicks off the Spring season with our Peanut Butter and Jelly Rally. Starting May 1 and running through the middle of June we take aim at a goal of 20,000 jars of peanut butter and jelly! gathered to meet a basic food need for families with school-age children.

A donation of $20 will buy a 12-pack of 18-ounce jars of peanut butter!

And, if you’d like to host a PB&J Drive, please contact us for a collection barrel. We will drop off a barrel and when the drive is finished, collect it. We can even let you borrow our peanut butter jar costume to help kick off your drive!

Contact us at 815-965-2466. Thank you!

Help a child start their school day off right! Each year in mid-August through September, the pantry, along with several community supporters, collect boxes of cereal for youth who visit the pantry.
